OK! OK! We are still alive.

Yes, we are still here and alive. I have been waiting for these photos of Dylan to get off Lance's phone so that I do not blog out of order. A few weeks ago, Dylan started complaining that his hip was hurting him. He was limping a bit and did not remember falling or straining it in any way. Heather decided to take him in for an x-ray. You just never know. . .

His x-ray did not reveal anything abnormal, but they recommended that Dylan go to Legancy Emanual Hospital down town for either an MRI or ultrasound, just to be sure. So, Heather took him there and waited and waited and waited. They said for the MRI they may have to sedate him. Summer asked me why they would need to "seduce" him. (Hee! Hee! Hee! well those Lloyd boys are awfully cute). They finally go him in to the ultrasound late in the evening. He came here at about 1:00. They said he had some fluid on his hip and they wanted him to stay off of it and take some Tylenol for the pain, but they also wanted to see him at 10:00 the next morning.

Lance had a meeting in the morning and I was the driver for taking Summer to Girl's Camp, so Heather took him back to Legacy hospital. They did another ultra sound and found enough fluid on his hip joint to cause concern. They wanted to do a little surgery to remove the fluid an make sure that it was not an infection and told him to check in for surgery at 1:00, but that he would not have the surgery until 4:00 since he had eaten at 10:00 and they had to wait 6 hours before they could put him to sleep for the surgery.

Lance and I headed to the hospital around 2:30 and found him sitting in a wheelchair in the waiting room. He was bored and hungry by that point:

Here is Dylan getting ready for the surgery in his comfy hospital jamies.

See little Ezra in the background. Jarom got to go to a friend's house to play while we went to the hospital, but Ezra was having a fainting day. I was half hoping he would have an episode in front of a nurse so that they could see what was going on, but his last episode of the day was while we were in the waiting room. I tell you what, he was such a good boy the whole time we were there. Not a whimper or complaint. Thank goodness, because there is nothing more miserable than entertaining a crabby toddler in a boring hospital.

Here is Dylan just after surgery. He woke up crying in pain and from the medications wearing off. He kept asking all of us when the surgery happened, how long it took, when they did it--- like 20 times. Poor baby was miserable. He actually did not get into surgery until after 5:00 and was done around 7:00. They did not find any infection, but attributed the fluid to a stress on his hip from a skateboard accident a week prior.

Dylan finally gets to eat something. Ya gotta love applesauce.

Because his surgery didn't end until close to 8:00, they decided to keep him overnight. Lance and Heather both stayed with him-- he wanted them both there with him while he was in pain. He got to come home the next day. He was sore for a few days afterwards, but mended well. By day 3, he was running.

There is just something so pathetic about a child in a hospital bed.......Glad he is up and around and doing well. Our prayers were answered.

Aaawwww! What an experience. How bizarre to have fluid on a hip, anyway.
