5 Things You May Not Know About Me

OK, it has been a LONG time since I have blogged. I read the blogs every few days, but don't seem to have the time to post my own. So, much belated, here are 5 things that you may not know about me:

1. I LOVE sunglasses. Lance laughs at me all the time because I wear them when there are clouds in the sky and even in the rain. I probably own about 6 or 7 pairs of sunglasses. I do not pay more than $5 for any pair of glasses-- that way if they get lost or broken, I am not as sad.

2. I VERY rarely change anything like my ring tones on my phone, the picture on my desk-top, the background of the blog. . . .I guess I am of the old adage, "If its not broke, don't fix it." I see no reason to spend my time, energy, or effort on changing those things. You might say I am "comfortable" the way things are.

3. I was the Women's Racquetball Champion for 3 semesters in a row in college and took first place in a racquetball doubles tournament as the only co-ed entry. My greatest delight was beating the boys in racquetball. I tell the story of playing someone I'd never played before while waiting for my regular partner to show up and beating him by a fairly good margin. I was ticked when he switched hands for our second game (he started by playing me left-handed). I creamed him 15-0.

4. I really don't mind doing the dishes-- even the hand-washing. I find it somewhat relaxing. Mind you, I don't love when people leave dishes in the sink when I have just emptied the dishwasher. I do not like laundry. Its not the shoving in the machine part, its the folding and putting away that gets very tedious. I have often said that I wish for a laundress for at least one year of my life.

5. I want to own a cow. There are some small cows called "homesteader" cows that produce enough milk for 1-2 families. I think that a cow, on a nice size property, a large garden, some more chickens, perhaps raising rabbits. . . would be nice to be more self-sufficient. I feel an urgency to become more able to take care of my family off our own production and power.
