Football

Here are are few pictures from Dyaln's football season which ended yesterday. These kids are pretty cute chasing around after the ball. We have enjoyed watching the games and look forward to more seasons in the future. They won some games and lost some, too. Dylan eats, sleeps, and breathes football. He is very motivated to do his best in the sport. He mostly played on special teams like the kick-returns. He was able to run the ball a few times and he had some spectacular tackles throughout the season. He only had one game that was rainy and cold. That is amazing in and of itself for fall in Oregon. It will be more fun to watch when Jarom and Ezra are a little older and better at sitting for a while. Like yesterday, we went to the field and got there early so Dyaln could do his weigh-in and warm-up. The wind picked up and it started getting really cold. I was not prepared for such cold, so I ran home to get coats and some dinner food. Shortly after I came back, Jarom was playing with another little boy who pushed him down and his knee was bleeding. You would have thought he'd broken his leg the way he was wailing for a band-aid. We finally got him calmed down after telling him that I could not magic a band-aid out of the sky. I told him to eat some dinner. I brought chicken, he wanted a hot dog. Again, I am not a magician. No hot dog appeared out of thin air. Despite his wailing, he ate chicken. Then he needed to go to the bathroom. Lance took him. Then Ezra had a poopy diaper, so I went to change him in the van. Jarom was playing again by then and fell down again and screamed again. I could hear him across the field. Ezra was tired so he was up, down, up down, and all over and tired and cold. Jarom went to get a mitten that had dropped under the bleachers and was panged with the need to poo so badly that he couldn't walk. A man had to get Lance and Lance and Jarom went back to the bathroom. I decided to go on a walk with Ezra rather than wrangle him in the bleachers. I met Lance and Jarom coming back and decided to go to the bathroom myself and then just head for the car- there was only about 2 minutes left in the game by then. Jarom and Ezra came with me. We won't talk about what happened in the bathroom, but I will say that on the way to the car, Jarom slipped on some loose gravel and scraped his knee again. He cried all the way home about getting a band-aid because it was SO painful.

Next year will be easier!!!
