Trip to Idaho

The day after Christmas, we took a trip to Idaho to visit the Lloyd family. We stayed at Grandpa and Grandma Lloyds' house and hung out with Paul and Sherlyn and family quite a bit. Paul and Sherlyn's kids are the same age and gender as our 4, so each kid has a buddy to play with. It is really fun!!

Tuesday we went to Blackfoot to visit Lance's Grandpa and Grandma Parker. It was fun to see them and to hear stories of Grandma Lloyd when she was younger. Grandma Parker swears that Sharon insisted upon wearing mini skirts during the mini skirt craze. Sharon claims that anything not below the knee was considered a "mini skirt" to her mother!! Grandma Parker is a fun story-teller.

The great-grand kids and great-grant parents. Ezra was being too stubborn for a picture. Cousin Maddy is next to Summer. We brought her along on our adventure for the day.

After visiting with the Parkers' we were going to go up to Idaho Falls to take the kids to Olive Garden for dinner, but it was only 2:30. We found the largest Army Surplus store in Idaho and decided to have a look around. What a fun place!! There is one of everything in that store. We found some good, inexpensive gloves. Summer and Maddy got sun glasses. Jarom and Ezra got whistles. Not sure what we were thinking when we got Ezra a whistle. . . . . .

It was still too early to go to dinner, so we went to the mall for a while-- mainly just looked around.

Then we went to Olive Garden for dinner. We don't take the whole family out very often, so it was a real treat!! It started snowing just as we got the the restaurant.

A fun day!!

:-) Love that comment about the mental state that induced you to get a two-year-old a whistle!

That sounds like fun! We just had Grandma Jo and Grandpa Dale come visit. Joshua was really playful and funny. He used his new front-end loader to dump buttons all over Grandpa's lap again and again. Grandma and Grandpa hurriedly picked them up and put them in the box where they belong. Joshua said, "Isn't this a fun game!?!" Grandma, Grandpa, and I just looked at each other and laughed. Then Joshua got them to play catch with him. I'd never seen my grandparents do that before. It was adorable.

It is a very good picture of Lance but those two old folks with him are something to behold.
